Swiss-Italian soprano Laurence Guillod was trained at the Haute école de musique de Lausanne (HEMU). For her singing, she was awarded the Max Jost Prize for Excellent Studies, scholarships by the Colette Mosetti Foundation and “Migros pour-cent culturel”, a 1st prize at the Claudio Abbado International Competition, Milan, and a 2nd prize at the International Umberto Giordano Competition in Foggia, Italy.

Between 2010 and 2013 she was a member of the opera studio and a frequent guest in operas by Mozart and Handel at Theater Basel. Since her debut in 2011 as Wanda in Offenbach’s La grande-duchesse de Gérolstein at the Opéra de Lausanne, she also performs regularly in the French-speaking part of Switzerland and in France in a repertoire ranging from Cimarosa and Donizetti (Adina) to Verdi (Traviata), Bizet (Micaëla) and Gounod (Juliette). In Toulon, she recently appeared as Marie de Poncourlay in Louis Varney’s operetta Les mousquetaires au couvent, in Catania as Liù in Turandot.

On the concert platform, Laurence sang Fauré’s Requiem (Concertgebouw, Amsterdam), Berlioz’ Les nuits d’été, Mozart’s Requiem (Victoria-Hall, Geneva) and Bach’s St John Passion, amongst others.

Her musical partners included singers Béatrice Uria-Monzon, Ramón Vargas, Ismael Jordi and Jean-Philippe Lafont, stage directors David Bösch and Jérôme Deschamps, and conductors Andrea Marcon, Cyril Diederich, James Gaffigan, Axel Kober, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, John Nelson and Joseph Swensen.
