Born 1989 in Switzerland, Estelle Revaz studied the cello in Paris at the CRR with Xavier Gagnepain and subsequently at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris (CNSMDP) with Jérôme Pernoo, as well as in Cologne with Maria Kliegel.

Her appearances as a soloist with orchestra and a repertoire ranging from Vivaldi to contemporary music have been highly acclaimed by reviewers and audiences in Europa and South America. From the 2017/18 season onwards, Estelle will for three years be a « Artist in residence » with the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève conducted by Arie van Beek.

At the same time, she loves to play chamber music with pianists such as Finghin Collins, Frank Dupree or Gérard Wyss and is a member of the Trio Colomba with Sergey Ostrovsky (violin) and Irina Chkourindina (piano) as well as the Trio Window with Damien Bachmann (clarinet) and Christian Chamorel (piano).

Concert work has taken Estelle to numerous halls and festivals in Switzerland (Victoria Hall, Geneva; Verbier Festival; Menuhin Festival, Gstaad; Fondation Gianadda, Martigny), France (Paris Louvre; Festival International de Colmar; Festival Pablo Casals), Germany and Italy, to South America and Asia (NCPA, Beijing; Oriental Art Center, Shanghai). Her stage partners included Gautier Capuçon, Lena Neudauer, Pavel Vernikov, Dong-Suk Kang, Ralf Manno, Pierre Génisson, Philippe Muller, the Sine Nomine Quartet, Cédric Pescia, François-Xavier Poizat and François Killian.

In 2015, Cantique, her first CD with symphony orchestra including Bloch’s Schelomo and Pitture, a new concerto by Andreas Pflüger written especially for the occasion, was published. 2017 saw the release of another CD, Bach&Friends, where Estelle successfully combines solo works by Bach with 20 century composers.

Radio and television appearances include national radio stations in France, Germany and Switzerland, several visits to the news programmes and a documentary about Gautier Capuçon for Swiss National Television. More recently, Estelle coproduced a five-part radio programme called „Estelle et le violoncelle“ for Swiss radio Espace 2.

Since 2015, Estelle is a member of the „Forum des 100“, a group of personalities considered to be shaping the future of Switzerland. In addition, her professional activities include teaching at the Kalaidos University for Music in Zurich and the publication of articles, her research into „the development of the artistic personality in teaching of an instrument at a superior level“ being published shortly.

Estelle Revaz currently plays a cello built by A. T. Fiorini and a bow by J. Eury provided to her by two generous Swiss patrons.
